JARDINES DE PEDRO LUIS ALONSO
Located on the east side of the City Hall, with an area of 6,500 square meters, these gardens of Latin design maintain Spanish-Muslim and French-style characteristics: flowerbeds with low hedges to provide color and symmetry, orange trees that provide shade, color and aroma; the ponds contrast and lend a sensation of freshness and sounds with the jets.
JARDINES DE PUERTA OSCURA
Located on the southern slope of Mount Gibralfaro, they owe their name to a door of Arab origin that was in the area.
These gardens were designed as a complement to the surroundings of the Alcazaba, keeping harmony with its decoration and distribution. Fountains, walks and gazebos alternate with abundant vegetation.
FINCA SAN JOSÉ
The Finca San José was built during the first third of the 19th century by the marriage of Manuel Agustín Heredia and Isabel Livermore y Salas. With a romantic and landscaped style, this farm brings together a great variety of species that had to be planted during the second half of the 19th century.
JARDÍN BOTÁNICO LA CONCEPCIÓN
One of the most beautiful and important tropical and subtropical gardens in Spain and one of the most appreciated in Europe. It was declared a historical-artistic garden in 1943, the Malaga City Council acquired it in 1990, conditioned it and opened it to the public in 1994.
PARQUE NATURAL MONTES DE MÁLAGA
With an area of 4,996 hectares and located just five kilometers from the city, the Montes de Málaga natural park allows you to immerse yourself in the middle of nature in a few minutes, enjoying its flora, fauna and the active tourism activities that it offers during all year.
PARQUE DE MÁLAGA
Bounded by the Alameda Principal and the Paseo de España that runs parallel to the Muelle de Guadiaro, the park stretches from the Plaza del General Torrijos to the Plaza de la Marina.
PARAJE NATURAL DESEMBOCADURA DEL GUADALHORCE
The natural area of the Mouth of the Guadalhorce is located within an island of 122 hectares, currently delimited by the two arms of the Guadalhorce River in its final section.
PARQUE DEL OESTE
(BARRIADA LA PAZ)
Parque del Oeste is a 74,000 m² park located in Malaga next to the La Paz and Santa Paula neighborhoods, in the Carretera de Cádiz District and close to the beach. It was inaugurated in 1992 and since its inauguration it has become a very popular place in Malaga to spend the day.
PARQUE DE LA PALOMA
(BENALMÁDENA)
One of the largest and most desirable parks in Europe is hidden in the heart of Benalmádena, especially to go with the whole family. Parque de la Paloma, in Benalmádena, is a picturesque oasis with nothing more and nothing less than 200,000 square meters of green area, located just a few steps from the beach.
JARDÍN JAPONÉS
(ALHAURÍN DE LA TORRE)
This park is ideal if you want to immerse yourself in oriental culture with children. From its entrance doors you can find oriental elements that you will see throughout your walk.
It is the only one of its kind in the entire province of Malaga and is located in Alhaurín de la Torre.
PARQUE DE LA BATERÍA
(TORREMOLINOS)
The La Bateria park is, with its privileged position overlooking the sea, one of the lungs of Torremolinos. The perfect place to disconnect, forget about asphalt and enjoy nature without leaving the city.
It has more than a thousand trees, of 25 different species.
CAMPO DE GOLF SAN JULIÁN
It is the westernmost beach in the municipality of Malaga and takes its name from the golf course next to which it is located. It is a semi-urban beach with a low degree of occupation and surrounded by vegetation.
Its 2,250 m. long and 50 m. maximum width make it the largest beach in Malaga with space for a soccer field and barbecue area.
EL CANDADO
Located between the El Candado marina and the Peñón del Cuervo beach, this small coastal strip takes its name from the residential area, built in the 1960s, to which the Club Naútico belongs and its marina, one of the most ancient from the Malaga coast.
EL DEDO
Playa del Dedo, also known as Playa del Chanquete, stretches from the beaches of El Palo and Arroyo Gálica to the Puerto Deportivo de el Candado. It is a beach with a family atmosphere.
EL PALO
There are several theories and legends about the origin of the place name "El Palo". The truth is that according to the historian Víctor Heredia, on the road to Vélez-Málaga, there was a “little vent of el Palo” that could be its explanation and the origin of the population center that gave rise to this neighborhood.
FÁBRICA DE CEMENTO
Between the Peñón del Cuervo and the neighborhood of La Araña is the beach of La Fábrica de Cemento, so called because it is right in front of the facilities of the Malaga cement factory that has been in operation since 1915.
GUADALMAR
From the Golf Course to the mouth of the Guadalhorce, the Guadalmar beach has been formed over time by the sediments carried by the riverbed. It is the closest to Malaga airport.
LA ARAÑA
The neighborhood of La Araña is the easternmost nucleus of the municipality of Malaga. It is a typical fishermen's neighborhood located in the same coastal area, where today they continue to fish, so it is common to find boats and fishing equipment on its beach.
LA CALETA
Located between Malagueta and Baños del Carmen, this beach takes its name from the stately neighborhood to which it belongs, chosen as a residential area by the gentry at the end of the 19th century to build their luxurious villas and palaces.
LA MALAGUETA
With 1200 m. long and 45 m. wide, La Malagueta is the closest beach to the port of Malaga to the East. It is one of the most visited beaches by the people of Malaga due to its connection to the city and its easy access.
LA MISERICORDIA
This beach owes its name possibly to the location of a provincial asylum and hospice called Casa de la Misericordia, built at the beginning of the 20th century and which was in operation until 1978. Today the building is the Civic Center.
BAÑOS DEL CARMEN
The Balneario del Carmen was inaugurated in 1918 with a totally new concept focused, above all, on satisfying the demands of the Malaga bourgeoisie and the increasingly frequent foreign tourists.
PEÑÓN DEL CUERVO
Between the El Candado marina and the Cement Factory, the Peñón del Cuervo beach takes its name from a rock formation that, like an isthmus, divides the beach into two areas.
SACABA
The strip that runs between the mouth of the Guadalhorce and La Misericordia beach is Sacaba. One of the quietest beaches in the west of the city of Malaga.
SAN ANDRÉS (HUELIN)
It is located between the beach of Mercy and the Port in the west. It seems that it owes its name to an old hermitage that was built by the fishermen who used to fish on these beaches, to honor San Andrés as their patron and protector.
PEDREGALEJO LAS ACACIAS
It is one of the oldest and most traditional fishing districts in Malaga.
With a length of 1200 m. and an average width of 20 m., this beach has the oldest promenade in the city.
